I have decided my word count will look like this:

1,000 words a week day

2,000 words a weekend day

Granted, a lot of that looks like drivel right now, but as one of my favorite professors once said, “Sometimes you need to get through all of this other, extra stuff in order to find out what your topic actually is.” Granted, that was in relation to paper-writing, but it applies here, too. And besides, the more I have here, the more I have to work with later on. I can always get rid of stuff or add something.

I say that now. So far, the last 3,000 words have been a lot of drivel.
